A New Recycling Site in Louth
A new Household Waste Recycling Centre is now open in Louth.
The new facility has been developed as part of Lincolnshire County Council's continuing commitment to provide excellent waste services to householders in Lincolnshire.
Located at Bolingbroke Road, Fairfield Industrial Estate to the north of Louth the new site is a state of the art facility which has been built with ease of use and public safety at the forefront of the design process. The new Household Waste Recycling Centre is able to accept all types of household waste. There are facilities to recycle a large range of materials from paper and cardboard to wood and electrical goods.
Councillor Lewis Strange, Executive Member for Waste at Lincolnshire County Council remarked "This is a tremendous new facility for people of Louth and the surrounding area, and goes to illustrate to our ratepayers that Lincolnshire is aiming within five years to be the top county for recycling and the most efficient for disposing of non recyclable waste."
The site will be open from 8.00am to 4.00pm seven days a week. At the commencement of spring next year opening hours will be extended to take advantage of longer daylight hours.
To enable residents to become accustomed to the new site we shall not be closing the old site Kenwick immediately, but running them both together until 31 October 2007 after which the old site will close.
